We introduced the Male Talent Showcase in 2017. It derived from the Youth Pageant Family Enrichment Program, now known as the
“Male Juneteenth Kingship” Program.
It was created for young men ages 8-18 to display their talent in the form of spoken word, musical instruments, singing and dancing. This event has proven to be very popular and very well received. It is now a gem in the making with plans to take it to another level. Plans are to add an educational component, adding preliminary workshops and activities similar to the Youth pageant. With this in mind, the program will cater to male ideals and perspectives.
The winners of these competitions advocate and dedicate themselves to the organization’s social impact initiatives. This brings awareness to the disparities (i.e. healthcare, education, historical ancestry) that are so prevalent in African American communities.
We are so very proud of the impact these events have had on our community. The response has been overwhelming, as we continue to serve in good faith to Delaware Youth and their Families.
